Tobogganing
Davos Klosters is the cradle of international tobogganing - the first official toboggan race in Davos was held in 1883. The famous “Davos sledge”, which has often been copied all over the world, has developed into a natural track sledge in Davos Klosters. Adventurous tobogganing fun awaits you on the Rinerhorn in Davos Glaris, about 10 minutes by car or bus away from the hotel. The 3.5km long toboggan run, with 33 serpentines, offers fun for brave tobogganers, young and old. A ride on the Davos sledge, on the “Zipfelbob” or on the air board, an inflatable body board for on snow, promises pure sledding fun for all. On Wednesdays and Fridays, you can go sledging on the Rinerhorn between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. A toboggan or Zipfelbob can be rented at the Rinerhorn mountain station for a small fee. The family run from the Schatzalp, which is 300 meters above Davos, is ideal for children and beginners. The wide spread 2.8 km long toboggan run with 18 curves leads you through the Schatzalp magic forest all the way back down to Davos Platz.
Did you know? Sledges (some with children’s seats) are available in our sports hotel. You are welcome to take a toboggan from our ski room, subject to availability.
Sledging is not only popular in winter, but also in summer on the Schatzalp toboggan run. They are pulled up with a lift and whiz down the 500-meter long canal. The summer toboggan run is open between May and October when the weather is good.
